We are happy things have grown so quickly, but….. The demand for our approach to pitching is pretty exciting, but overwhelming. We need Instructors in many areas of the country. Right now our focus is on filling voids in the east, southeast, and midwest. If you are interested in studying with us, please continue to read. If you know a great candidate, please share this.
If you want to study with us, the very first thing to know is that candidates must have a strong background. There are so many things you must learn that only come from having “been there and done that”. Put simply, we like people who pitched in college. Whether you pitched D1 or D3, you learned so much along the way. You dealt with strength training, recruiting, injuries, bad and good coaches, setting goals, strategies, and a thousand other things that we can build upon. Best of all, as a female athlete, there are things you naturally understand about young ladies and the struggles they face at times.
We simply cannot take someone who is just going through this for the first time, perhaps learning with their daughter, and make it work. There are hundreds of things that you don’t even know that you don’t know, and nothing substitutes for experiences. We want people who have been through every level, who stuck with it even in bad times, and have demonstrated a very special dedication to the game. This has to be a long-time passion for you because we can’t invest hundreds of hours training into someone who has not demonstrated that she is in it for the long haul.
We have invested thousands of hours, and dollars, into things that will help you do a better job. We will train you in areas where you are not as strong. Nobody in the pitching business knows more about strains and sprains, how to deal with rare conditions like Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, stress fractures in the L5 vertebra, or impingements in the shoulder. We spend a lot of time fixing problems that new kids bring to us. Nobody compares with our organization in bringing back the kid with a torn ACL or shoulder labrum. They come from around the country because they were not getting good answers at home.
Injuries are just a tiny part of our job. We have to know the recruiting game from start to finish. How do kids get noticed, how do they select schools, what questions should they ask on a visit, what should they ask the strength coach, the pitching coach, the head coach, and does this program have a policy of making drastic changes in the form of pitchers without allowing any input? We have to help them know how to choose travel programs that are beneficial in recruiting, which ones charge too much money for too little exposure, and which ones are helpful in the geographic portion of the nation where they want to get recruited. You must know the significant differences in playing at the NSA, USSSA, ASA and PGF levels. And this is just the start.
When it comes to strength and conditioning, nobody has more expertise to help you and your students. We have about a dozen people with experience and formal training in this area. They can advise you each step of the way.
How about building speed? Again, with professionals from every level, we can help. Some of our former pitchers were big and strong, others were smaller in stature, some played in small colleges and others went professional. We all work together regularly to learn and develop new ways to help each individual achieve her maximum speed and power.
The mental side? Got it covered. One of our Certified Instructors is a respected lecturer in this field and is Sports Psychology Consultant for one of the professional softball teams. We have people with college degrees in related fields from counseling to human behavior. And a significant number of our people have coached at every level so they have been through the fire and know how to help kids fight through it.
Various pitches. This is where we shine. Not every pitcher was an expert with every pitch. We have assembled the top experts on the riseball, screwball, curve, drop, and changeup, all in one place. Each Instructor can work very closely with experts on every single pitch until it becomes very comfortable. And, it gets better. If a kid cannot learn one changeup, we have Instructors in the group who can teach you another and another, until you find one she loves. We offer instruction in 6 different changeups, 3 of which we have created ourselves through a lot of specialized research, so we can probably find one that is easier and more effective for each specific student. Curveball, we offer three different options. Drop, we have a couple of options, one of which we created ourselves and it takes about 3 minutes to learn. And, on it goes.
From business practices to taxes, we have experts standing by to help you be successful. At this point candidates ask “what is the catch?” Sorry, there is no catch. We simply want to be good at what we do. We want to learn from one another every single day. So, you will quickly see two things:
1-It is not a money game for us, but a passion for helping kids be the best they can be.
2-It is not top-down management with one person telling you how to do things. It is all about each member helping other members to find better ways to do things. Once our Instructors see how it operates, they never leave.
So, if you know someone who wants to work with pitchers for a living, or who is already involved but wants do a better job, if she has college experience, sometimes even more as a player more than as a pitcher, share this with her. If you are an instructor who knows her kids could do better, but you are not sure what is holding them back…who wants to learn better ways to help them reach far higher, let’s talk. We are looking for more people, who have a passion for excellence, to join us in Changing Pitching in America. Contact us today.
