Lauren Toth

Madison, Wisconsin

Lauren Toth grew up in Elgin, Illinois. While in high school, she was named two-time Pitcher of the Year and earned the title of Player of the Year from the Elgin Illinois Courier News. She also served as Honorary Captain of the All-Area team for The Northwest Daily Herald and played for The Elgin Heat softball team.

Lauren continued her success as both a pitcher and hitter at the collegiate level, making an immediate impact at UW-Whitewater, where she earned All-Conference honors as a sophomore and completed her bachelor’s degrees in special education.

Since then, Toth has held several coaching positions, including JV Head Coach, Varsity Pitching Coach, and U14 Travel Coach. She has also added private and group pitching instruction to her coaching repertoire.

Lauren brings her deep passion for social-emotional learning, building relationships, and supporting the “whole child” into her coaching, empowering students to succeed at whatever level they are at.

Why did Lauren choose to study with Tincher Pitching?

“I was first introduced to Tincher Pitching through Arin Oppermann, a well-known pitching instructor in our area who has sent many athletes to play at the collegiate level. Her deep understanding of how the body moves, her ability to break down complex movements into simple steps, and her focus on supporting the full child sparked my interest in learning more.

As a former high school and college pitcher who had to “re-learn” certain movement patterns, and who still remembers the physical challenges I faced as a pitcher, I was thrilled to discover a system and community that supports pitchers based on how their bodies naturally move.

My passion for the organization grew further when I observed Denny at one of his clinics in Madison, Wisconsin. It was there that I realized I needed to deepen my knowledge by learning from the best, so I could offer the highest-quality instruction to my own pitchers.

What I wasn’t expecting—but was thrilled to experience—was the deep commitment, passion, and desire to learn from a community that loves the game of softball as much as I do. As a lifelong learner, I gained new excitement and insights not only to grow my own knowledge but also to teach my pitchers based on the skills they bring to the game.”

Here is what Denny has to say about Lauren.

“Lauren exemplifies our passion for our students.  Her role in special education helps her see each individual as an individual, each with various strengths.  Eash having different challenges.  When you start with that understanding, you know that cookie-cutter approaches don’t work.  We like Lauren’s interest in digging deep, finding the keys to help each kid excel in ways that are unique to her.”

Lauren serves in the Madison, Wisconsin area.
