She went on to play at Northwestern College in Orange City, IA where she was named GPAC Pitcher and Player of the year, as well as an Honorable Mention All-American as a Junior. She still ranks in many of Northwestern’s top pitching records including only allowing 3 walks in 182 innings pitched and a 1.15 ERA. She also received her teaching degree in Elementary Education with a Special Education and Coaching endorsement.
Anita has been a head coach for Garner-Hayfield High School in Garner, IA, MOC-FV High School in Orange City, IA, and was recently named head coach at Winterset High School in Winterset, IA where she currently serves as a High School Special Education teacher.
In addition to her high school experience, she served as assistant coach for both Northwestern College in Orange City, IA and Dordt University in Sioux Center, Iowa.
Anita brings her teaching experience along with her ability to create relationships into her love of pitching in order to help pitchers of all levels be successful.
Anita explained why she chose to join Tincher Pitching. “I have always had a foundational understanding of pitching, but I was looking for a deeper insight into how the body can function most efficiently in this sport. As I explored various philosophies of pitching, I became increasingly drawn to Tincher Pitching. Denny’s commitment to helping athletes pitch safely and effectively was evident from the start. He, along with the entire Tincher community, creates an atmosphere where ideas are welcomed and support is abundant. I really appreciate the dedication to prioritizing pitchers’ health and safety, and the organization’s willingness to continually grow and improve. Denny knows each instructor personally and is a wealth of knowledge and information in the pitching world. I’m so excited to be a part of the Tincher Pitching Community!”
Denny says that he is happy to have Anita in the organization. “Anita has a fantastic personality for this. She can be very patient, yet knows when to be a little more demanding. I really enjoy watching the way students relate to her. It is an instant connection. Yes, she learns fast and knows how to apply the things she learns. Most of all I like the way she makes it clear and easy for students to learn.”
Anita is located just southwest of Des Moines, Iowa.
