This One is For Parents

I took it as a great compliment.  A parent said, “For the past five years I have been trying to change my daughter.  I realized that I need to change me.”  He thanked me for showing that his daughter is a smart, delightful, and motivated person who just needed room to run.

How can we ask her to adjust, adapt, and amaze if we just keep setting a poor example by shoving things at her in ways that have failed to produce results repeatedly in the past?
